Mossel Bay Vessel Simulations

Project background:

The project involved the assessment of navigation for larger vessels expected to frequent the Port of Mossel Bay, South Africa, including larger general cargo vessels and passenger vessels.

Enuvo partnered with the CSIR on this project.

Services rendered:

  • Development of conditions and test scenarios for simulations.

  • Wave modelling to determine wave conditions at the site.

  • 2D Desktop Navigation Simulations using the SIMFLEX software package.

  • Recommendations on navigation impacts and constraints leading out of the desktop simulation work undertaken.

Feasibility Services - Hydrocarbon Service Zone, Mauritania

Project background:

The project involved the Conceptual Designs for a Dedicated Hydrocarbon Service Zone (Offshore Supply Base). The project developed in phases. Phase 1 as the landside portion of the works. Phase 2 included two berths and navigation areas for offshore supply base vessels, while phase 3 included and additional two berths, a breakwater, as well as a dug-out dry dock. The capital cost estimates were in the order of USD60m and USD100m for Phase 2 and 3 respectively

Services rendered:

  • Definition of typical services to be rendered from the special economic zone to service oil and gas exploration, development and production;

  • Define potential marine traffic and vessel sizes required to service offshore gas developments;

  • Develop conceptual solutions and high-level design to required marine infrastructure for the special economic zone.
